The day before he came home I drove to his parents house since that is closer to the airport.<\/p>\n<p>As I left home, I discovered the GPS was not working.<\/p>\n<p>Now, of course, I&#8217;ve been to my parents (in law) a thousand times, but I&#8217;m very (very) bad with roads and cars and directions and all that kind of stuff.?As Lucy says in Narnia when Edmund says the worst thing about girls is that they don&#8217;t carry a map in their heads: &#8216;That&#8217; s ?because our heads have something in them&#8217;.?But I thought I&#8217;d try. I could always stop and ask for directions to some stranger. (Yeah right)<\/p>\n<p>After driving for a little while, while praying very, very hard, I thought&#8230; God wants to use this to tell me something.?I always want to know ahead of time what&#8217;s going to happen. I worry about things that might happen in 20 years.?The way I understood it, God wanted to tell me that He&#8217;s in control and He&#8217;ll tell me where to go and what to do the moment He thinks I should know.<\/p>\n<p>So here I was, driving along, frantically pushing the power button on the GPS and telling God that hey! I&#8217;ve learned the lesson, now may I please have my GPS? Just to be sure, you know.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/omily.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/america-2010-350.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1565\" alt=\"Long Road\" src=\"http:\/\/omily.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/america-2010-350-300x224.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/omily.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/america-2010-350-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/omily.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/america-2010-350-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/omily.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/america-2010-350-400x299.jpg 400w, https:\/\/omily.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/america-2010-350.jpg 1015w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>But the screen stayed very black. And quite empty.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>So I drove along. And here and there I bounced up in my seat, smiling at some points I recognized. Like &#8216;The Most Powerful Computer Shop&#8217; and &#8216;Nino&#8217;s Restaurant&#8217;.?Every time there was a turn or roundabout, I worried about which one to take. But I always know the moment I was there.<\/p>\n<p>And I do really believe God was helping me along.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, I arrived. Without taking a wrong turn even once!?Next time the GPS doesn&#8217;t work, maybe I won&#8217;t try to make it work right until the driveway of my destination.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mike was in India for 2 weeks.
