They waited on him all day long. From the moment he stepped out the door, with them standing in front of the window, howling. They thought their life was as tragic as anything.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p>After we built a very high tower with the duplo blocks, and the oldest could kick it down, they decided that life was worth living after all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p>Gabriel still naps in the morning. After that, I promised Abel, we can go see Izaak. His face becomes a smile. A beaming, grinning, mischieveous smile. According to him, baby is all done sleeping now. I say he&#8217;s not. 5 minutes later, baby is really done sleeping, Abel informs me. But mama does not agree with him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p>We make a train, a pile of pillows to jump in, empty the toy boxes with the cars and baby toys, we draw Abel&#8217;s hand and get the mail, and we eat raisins. Then, we hear a noise coming from upstairs. We run up the stairs and the noise becomes a cry. The cry turns into a laugh soon enough, when mama is holding the little tot and Abel gives brother a kiss. &#8220;Izzzaaaaaaaaaaaaaak!!&#8221; Yes yes!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p>Life is a tragical mess again when we have to lie down on the diaper pillow. Tears and wails. &#8216;Izzaaahaaahaaak&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p>Run to the coats, climb in the stroller and off we go. We walk past the 5 houses that separate us from the beloved Izaak. And then we knock on the window by the play corner. At first, we don&#8217;t see anybody. It&#8217;s dark and quiet inside. Two white heads. Blue eyes and blonde hairs, white faces with big laughs. They run away to get mama. And there the door opens already. Izaak and Abel hug each other a little awkwardly in their enthusiasm. They are off to a land I&#8217;d forgotten. A land where chairs can be trains and a wooden stick a micropone or a cell phone. Where a coach is a jumping castle or an air plaine and where you can stand round a gitaar with the 4 of you, singing your hearts out without worrying what people are thinking. Because you are a star.
