Remember that before you read on.<\/p>\n<p>This morning he found a worm outside, while digging in the gravel. Because why play with toys when there is such a thing as gravel?<\/p>\n<p>He made friends with the worm and provided The Worm with a home. Several homes, in fact. At first, he proclamied the window sill to be The Worm&#8217; house. Then the worm moved to the grass. The Worm, however, was lonely, and wanted to stay with Abel. Abel still regards me as an expert in such things as understanding the hearts&#8217; desires of worms. Yay for me.<\/p>\n<p>To make Abel feel involved, and like a good worm-parent, I advised him to make The Worm a grass bed. This he did, together with Gabriel, very enthusiastically. He added some gravel, just to make sure The Worm would feel at home and know it was loved.<\/p>\n<p>After this my attention wandered around (to my phone,? let&#8217;s be honest) and meanwhile, the boys and The Worm had a grand old time. At least, the boys did. I suspect The Worm of?devising devious escape plans.<\/p>\n<p>Imagine my surpise when the next time I looked up there was my little innocent brown-eyed angel, stamping on the already crushed worm with this little blue boots and making the already dead worm even deader!<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It mayn&#8217;t?play with me anymore&#8217; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Rest in peace, sweet worm.
